Social Media In Property: Collaboration Breeds Success

First #be2campeast Meeting in Chelmsford, showing Paul Taylor/Lee Smallwood

We have had a spectacular week here at My Property Mentor. All our projects are moving on at a blistering pace and the week was capped off in rather excellent fashion with our first be2campeast event. Over 45 people attended and a further 100 or so were watching our live stream from the event, it was a really fun day. Following on from Lee Smallwood’s blogs this week around social media in property it was great to see him expand on that concept at the event. ( He is the one in the bottom right picture.)

We had a few technical issues with the venue, but they were fantastic at sorting it out in a speedy fashion. Excellent venue and helpful staff.

Collaborate For Success

This event was put together entirely with the collaboration of so many dedicated people, all of which were brought together from my social media following and weaved into an amazing collective of knowledge that was shared on the day. To me this whole experience has proved beyond a doubt that social media is the most incredibly powerful way of furthering your business that I have ever experienced. The folks who attended the event were there purely because they had heard about us in some way on our social media channels.

No Sales Pitch

Not a single traditional marketing message was sent- no banner ads and no spammy emails to drum up business. We had a ‘No Selling” policy at the event. The speakers were not there to sell at the audience, they were there to share information and help everyone to understand how to use social media for themselves and their businesses within the property arena. I believe that this is the way forward for a networking event.

Free to attend with fast, fun, presentations with people who love what they do and are enthusiastic in sharing. No lengthy sales pitches, people flogging courses or folks droning on about their business. It was great to get a true understanding of what the Treehouse Appeal is all about too. Big thanks to Nick Joplin for his presentation.

Can’t wait for the next one now on 27th May!

What Next?

Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing with you some of the opportunities which have come our way via our social media efforts in the last year, and what’s coming up soon. We are about to embark upon the biggest thing we have ever done which will be achieved completely via crowd sourcing.

Hopefully we will spur you on and inspire you to continue to let go of traditional ways of doing things and come into the bright new world which is being carved out before our eyes – which-we are all going be a big part of. Big business is waking up to the social media revolution already- are you?
